Graanstokerij Filliers from Deinze markets the ‘Cactus’ and ‘Mojito’ jenever cocktails under the Wortegemsen brand. This enables Filliers to meet the rising demand for exotic drinks and summer cocktails.

“After we acquired Wortegemsen last year, the time was right to energise the brand and aim at a different, mainly younger, target audience,” says Bernard Filliers. “The ‘Cactus’ and the ‘Mojito’ provide a nice supplement to the famous traditional Wortegemsen lemon jenever.”

mojitoThe Wortegemsen Mojito is a ready-to-drink cocktail and a tasty mix of young malt spirit, freshly picked limes, fresh mint leaves and genuine citrus pulp. The ‘Cactus’ is a ready-to-drink cocktail based on tequila. Both cocktails are best drunk ice cold with ice cubes or crushed ice. The launch of both cocktails has received a particularly warm welcome from the retail sector. Virtually all of the major chains have taken on one or both jenevers into their range. The market launch was supported in the big outlets with in-store promotion material, such as displays and wobblers, as well as with sampling.

cactus‘Cactus’ and ‘Mojito’ are both produced at the site in Deinze. The production process follows the same style and tradition as the other jenevers. For example, the ‘Mojito’ and the traditional Wortegemsen use the same lemon pulp as their base. This expansion of the range fits in perfectly with the strategy implemented by Filliers to bring new products and tastes to market every year. In June there will be a new Filliers Cuberdon on the market, and by Father’s Day, there will be 2 new whiskies, in the form of Goldlys Sherry Wood and the Rye & Malt. These ongoing innovations confirm the status of Filliers as the market leader and trendsetter in the Belgian marketplace.
